Connecting the Diaspora Through Fashion
Passport to Ghana is a cultural bridge. Designer Gionna Nicole traveled to Accra to co-create six exclusive styles of swim and resort wear with Ghana's finest artisans, and to document the craftsmanship behind every piece.
Each phase spotlights a different artisan discipline, from pastel swimwear and crochet macramé to bespoke menswear tailoring and emerging designer collaborations. It all builds toward a limited-edition collection and a documentary film.

Lady Dadzie
Founder, Pastels | Accra, Ghana
Founded three years ago in Accra, Pastels built its name on pastel bikinis with marble-print detailing. Lady Dadzie's work now reaches customers across Ghana and beyond.
"I started Pastels from a very real place. As a university student, I loved wearing bikinis, but finding my size in Ghana was so difficult. I never felt included. I turned that gap into a brand that makes women feel confident, seen, and beautiful."
Each piece fuses soft pastel hues with intricate marble patterns. Beyond swimwear, Pastels offers loungewear that adds a touch of luxury to everyday moments, all crafted with sustainability and ethical practices at its core.

We're filming every step of this journey, from the initial spark in Avid Swim's studio to the artisan workshops of Accra. The documentary captures the human stories behind each stitch.
